When we started BTS in 2014, the payments landscape in this region was dominated by large international vendors who offered powerful platforms at price points and with deployment models that were out of reach for most regional banks. The smaller institutions that needed payment infrastructure the most were the ones least able to access it.
Our answer was not to build a cheaper version of what those vendors offered. It was to build something better suited to the environment — platforms that could be deployed by bank IT teams, certified against international standards, and maintained without a permanent dependency on a remote professional services team. Engineering-led, not sales-led. That conviction has not changed.
A decade in, BTS platforms are running ATM networks, POS fleets, kiosk estates, and mobile wallets in five countries. We have certified against EMV specifications, aligned with PCI-DSS requirements, and connected to core-banking systems from a range of international and regional vendors. Each deployment has made us more capable on the next.
The question we are now asked most often is about AI. Banks want to know what it means for their operations, their fraud controls, and their customer experience — and they want honest answers, not vendor enthusiasm. We have spent the last two years building AI capabilities that fit inside existing bank infrastructure, comply with regulatory constraints, and produce outcomes that a compliance team can explain.
